My teaching is rooted in individualized attention, positive mentorship, and the development of confident, independent musicianship. I strive to create a nurturing and supportive environment where each student’s skill level guides our work together. Whether a student aims for a professional performance career or simply seeks to grow as an artist, I am committed to helping them become the best bassoonist they can be. Drawing on the wisdom and influence of my own mentors, I tailor my instruction around a student's unique goals, fostering both technical mastery and artistic expression. My students have achieved notable successes, including winning concerto competitions, earning positions in professional ensembles and on university faculties, gaining admission to nationally recognized festivals and graduate programs, and receiving honors such as Outstanding GTA Award and the CFA Creative Achievement Award. Above all, I aim to inspire growth through compassionate, engaging, and insightful teaching that supports each students' journey.
The bassoon studio is a supportive environment where students have safe and encouraging community toward personal and artistic growth.
